Questions about methods of blood pressure measurement

What is a long-term blood pressure measurement?

Similar to a long-term electrocardiograph (ECG), a portable blood pressure device and an upper arm cuff are attached to the body for about 24 hours. The device is pumped up automatically every 10-15 minutes and reads the blood pressure. All of the readings are stored and can then be analysed by the doctor using a computer program. In this way, a large number of blood pressure readings is obtained over a period of 24 hours and is an important basis for the diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure.
